HOW TO PITCH a TV sHOW: NETWORKING, ACCESS aND LOTS OF PATIENCE
I'm writing up so many TV show concepts lately that you can see the steam coming out of my ears. Good news - I'm now collaborating with a big UK production company trying to pitch my/our own ideas , begging brands for money and convincing people that their stories deserve to be on telly. Back in the day - you had a good idea, a couple of paragraphs, you went to the channel if you knew the right person and usually you got your show commissioned if you had a decent enough track

WHAT'S NEXT IN 2026?
It's been nearly 9 years that I've been running #likeachallenge. There have been a few 'leaner' years where I lost some of my usual confidence, inspiration and spark (the long and winding covid period did not help). I took time to think whether writing about my adventures is something that the world actually needs or more importantly, if I need it. Also social media like Instagram or TIktok took over the world... and despite it's massive popularity, I still prefer writing,

TV & PRESENTING TALES: BEHIND THE SCENES OF #THELASTHUNT SERIES 1
I've kept it quiet for a while (well, I still am until it comes out) but here are some behind the scenes from the making of #TheLastHunt. This time - together with the amazing Guy Walters - we were tracing the stories and/or myths surrounding Nazi Gold and the possibilities of some of that stolen gold still being hidden away in far away and hard to reach places around Europe. Apart from the fascinating travel and exploration elements, the documentary also showcases the tragic

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: DECEMBER 2025 UPDATE
Well, above all: I managed to stay afloat. I’m hoping for a solid year in 2026, now that I finally understand a few more of the unwritten rules of working in the UAE. Because trust me, there are many. This year felt a bit like being thrown into a desert sandstorm armed only with an optimistic grin. But somehow, I walked out the other side with new contacts, new skills and slightly better hydration habits. I made some great connections, attended some very cool events (the kin

9.12.2025
I'm settling into my new life in Dubai. Finding 'my places', meeting new people and generally excited about the future here. My dear Andy is commuting back and forth from Munich still. I was just texting Maja, my bestie in London, and thanking her for the 1% rule she told be about. Basically, do at least 1% of something each day, rather than nothing. It helps me so much with get things done and staying on track. Even me, the #likeachallenge pro, sometimes has days off. To be

HOW TO FIND A FLAT IN DUBAI ?
One thing is setting up and running a company in Dubai. Another story is finding a long term flat to go with it (rent). I learnt so much about the property market in Dubai over the last few months that I could become a real estate agent myself. I've finally got my home-sweet-home now (not the first choice, but it’s a real solid base for starters). I'll count my blessings. So story in a nutshell: Found first apartment in the area of Creek Harbour, but landlord disappeared befo

BAJA DUBAI 2025
Dubai turned up the heat once again with the 2025 Dubai International Baja, the grand finale of both the FIA World Baja Cup and the FIA Middle East Baja Cup. The event, based in vibrant Dubai Festival City, drew adventurous crews from across the globe to tackle challenging desert terrain, from the rocky heights of Hatta to the sweeping sands of Al Qudra - a true test of driver skill, machine resilience and pure grit in the middle of the UAE’s stunning landscapes. HOW TO BE A PRESENTER (according to someone who accidentally became one)
So, here’s the thing: if presenting is something you really want to do, buckle up. Breaking into this corner of showbusiness can be a bit like trying to squeeze into skinny jeans after a festive season - possible, but not that easy. In my case, I was already working in TV and never actually planned on becoming a presenter. But when this random, out-of-the-blue opportunity came up I thought, Why not? and jumped in headfirst. To my surprise, I was… fairly OK at it. Or at leas

Motivation is sometimes hard to find, even on the best of days. You can get distracted by so many things (Your Honor, guilty, I sometimes watch too many reels on TikTok) I've been a freelancer all my life, so I've learnt how to deal with the low-energy moments, but..it happens. And it's good to be aware when it's actual tiredness vs endless procrastination (a bit of lazy is also normal, brain needs a rest!:) First off all, better to do 5min of something, than nothing. That 5m

15.10.2025
I appreciate the fact that I get some time to myself while travelling for work. I can focus on new projects, properly sit down and think, without any distractions. Day to day, when you got family, friends, bf non stop around you (to be clear, I love being around them) , I just can't progress as fast. Also I love working on flights, minus the internet and scrolling Insta. I'm learning every day how to avoid procrastination. Happens to the best. The 1%/ 5min rule generally help

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: A FEW PRACTICAL TIPS
Finding the right niche and actually making proper use of ones skills isn’t easy. It’s one of those things that sounds simple until you’re in the middle of it. I’ve got two main things brewing: TV work (broadcast & corporate) and an idea for a media + merchandise project that will raise the profile of women in motorsports. Very early stages. What I’ve learned so far: Pick the right place: Dubai felt like the right base for me (if you haven’t already, check out my company setu

Living life from one suitcase is a quiet rebellion against clutter, constant need to buy things and the traditional idea that happiness needs square footage. When everything I own fits behind a zipper, my day feels lighter (literally and metaphorically;). I don’t waste time choosing between versions myself hanging in a closet, I simply get dressed and go. To be clear, I still have beautiful pieces in my one bag. Chosen, special, good quality, yet practical. So my style game i

HOW TO PITCH A TV SHOW: IDEAS & why inspiration never shows up on time.
People often think "coming up with ideas” means sitting at a desk, staring poetically into the distance and waiting for genius to strike like lightning. Spoiler: that is not how it works. At least not for me. If I sit down and force myself to “be creative,” my brain immediately goes on a lunch break. My ideas usually arrive at the most inconvenient moments: during random conversations, mid-scroll in the Uber, while I’m eavesdropping (professionally, of course) at the cafe,

HOW TO BE A PRESENTER: ON THE ROAD UPDATE
I'm filming non stop for the next few weeks, travelling from Czechia to Poland, followed by Germany, Austria and Italy. This time in a brand new role as presenter, not a director or producer. It's a full-on, (low) budget production, so a lot to film and very little time. I've done similar things before, but I've come to realise how demanding a presenter's job actually is. I thought that sometimes 'the talent' have it a bit easier than the production team, though that's defini

NEW (UNEXPECTED) CHALLENGE: HOW TO BE A PRESENTER
This is a very unexpected and unplanned challenge. Recently I got asked if i want to be a co-presenter on a 6 part history series. I've directed and produced quite a lot of history stuff over the years, but always standing behind the camera (I've covered a few WW1 and WW2 things, but also ancient Egypt, medieval times and some more recent stories). I genuinely like digging into the past, as it allows me to explore people, different cultures and relationships between countries

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: APRIL 2025 UPDATE
I'm now set up, and full-time working and living in Dubai. Much as beginnings are never easy (and endings are not easy either, bye bye London..). I'm in the middle of flat-hunting also. 2025 is definitely a year of big change and new opportunities. I'm excited what the future holds. It took a while to get everything organised, but fingers crossed it will all be worth it. I now run my very own (and my first ever) media production company: GOOD MEDIA PRODUCTIONS . I still do TV

HOW TO PITCH a TV SHOW: DEALING WITH FEEDBACK
If there’s one thing the creative world guarantees - besides caffeine dependency - it’s feedback. And sending a couple of ideas to a well established production company was a fresh reminder that feedback can swing anywhere between "ooh, interesting!" and "yup, that’ll never get made." I pitched two concepts: a property reality show and a women-in-motorsports documentary. And honestly? The response was medium. Not soul-crushing, not champagne-popping. I'd sum it up as OK-ish w

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: SET UP IN UAE (Freezone)
Here's in a nutshell how I set up my company in the UAE. This is the freezone version (open to international businesses wanting a base in the Emirates, BUT effectively operating somewhat in an off-shore style - great starting point for the UAE and a popular set up among foreigners). There is also the mainland option, which is becoming more and more open towards single ownership by a foreign person (previously you needed a local Emirati partner), but I'll do a seperate post o

Taking a week off in Sardinia together with friends of Andy. Beautiful home right by the beach. Sunshine, boats, fresh breeze, blue waters. Sardinia is a true gem in Europe. Honestly, the waters are Carribean-like and it's just a couple of hours away from London or Munich. Random relationship advice: food and eating is what keeps a couple together, and of course similar values and expectations in life. But above all, loving good food and eating. The rest is negotiable.

I wished I showed my parents some more love when I was younger. On the bright side, least I've realised how special they are early enough to make up for it and cherish every moment together. A few days full of joyful celebrations and lots of coffee. I attended my goddaughter communion. We see each other quite rarely otherwise (Zosia the little one and her mum Agata, my primary school friend). That's the sad reality of living full-time abroad. I don't think I've been the most consistent of friends in this case, but it does get tough keeping in touch regulary with everyone spread across the globe. NEW CHALLENGE: HOW TO MOVE TO DUBAI AND SET UP A COMPANY.
I reached a point in life where I need a new base, somewhere I can really focus on business and actually grow it. I’ve been in the UK for about 16 years (not counting my school years), and I still have a soft spot for it, but I need a fresh boost of energy. And, let’s be honest: more sunshine. A lot more. USA & CANADA ROAD TRIP ITINERARY
We (the royal 'we': me and my coolest man Andreas) spent 2 weeks in USA between LA - San Francisco - Portland - Seattle & 1 week in Vancouver and Vancouver Island. #ThrowbackThursday You know how much I enjoy visiting football stadiums (and opera houses;), don't you? I thought you'd like to see a few vintage photos from my first visit ever to a stadium and live football match: it was a Champions league game at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid back in 2003 (!). HOW TO PITCH A TV SHOW
After focusing my career on TV production (physically directing and producing on location), I'm yearning to pivot towards development. 5 BEST THINGS TO DO IN MALLORCA ON VALENTINES DAY
Just a few cool suggestions for a Valentines weekend in Mallorca. My general rule: simple does it. TENNIS CHALLENGE: WEEK 4 & FINAL MATCH
Hmmm.. it's been two weeks since the final match, so I feel better now ;-) I survived the 30 days training (just about), but long story short: I lost the final match. Happens to the best and to be fair, writing about it is a nice closure :) Week 4: I played my usual daily tennis, did a lot of walking on the beach (went south of the island for a few nights) and mostly focused on stretching. Nothing to strenuous. Nevertheless, I didn't have much left for the final match itself.

TENNIS CHALLENGE: WEEK 3
Slightly belated summary of week 3. It was tough. I felt super tired beginning of the week and to be honest, most of the workouts were very forced and I stopped enjoying the full-on schedule I imposed on myself (good news: I'm fine again in week 4, hurrah!) . Mid week I forgot how to play altogether, nothing was going right with the forehand or backhand. ROAD TRIP AROUND FUERTEVENTURA: THE SOUTH
Corralejo - Sotavento - Cofete This is route number 2, which goes down south from Corralejo, all along the east coast of Fuerteventura. A ROAD TRIP WEEKEND IN A FIAT 500C
I ended up with another Fiat, this time the cute & classy 500C. It's not a full convertible but 'topless' enough to dry your hair. It’s actually my second time testing the Fiat 500: I did my first ( non-topless ) drive a few years ago in Sardinia. It’s cool, much as it feels like a slightly bigger version of a Matchbox toy car (I used to play with those as a kid:). I would never see myself driving it day to day: it's just too 'delicate' for me plus the small size of the boot

FUERTEVENTURA ROAD TRIP IN A FIAT 124 SPIDER
If I could describe this car in one word: fun! It’s the perfect roadtrip car for Fuerteventura (more details on the actual roadtrip in a seperate post). It’s a joyful roadster made for a sexy, wind–in–your-hair ride. It’s a revival of the 1960s/70s model, redesigned using elements of the very popular Mazda MX-5 Miata.
