HOW TO BE A PRESENTER: ON THE ROAD UPDATE

I'm filming non stop for the next few weeks, travelling from Czechia to Poland, followed by Germany, Austria and Italy. This time in a brand new role as presenter, not a director or producer.

It's a full-on, (low) budget production, so a lot to film and very little time. I've done similar things before, but I've come to realise how demanding a presenter's job actually is. I thought that sometimes 'the talent' have it a bit easier than the production team, though that's definitely not the case! Prepping and research for each episode takes time, we all share the driving and travel challenges, I've given up on doing daily make up at this stage (prioritising sleeping!) and we do the exact same hours in the end. So, my fellow presenters, full respect.

It also takes time to feel comfortable in from on the lense. I still prefer to film others than being filmed myself, but...trying to enjoy it while working on some things that aren't perfect (pronunciation, clear voice, body language).

As on any shoot, there are a lot of early starts and late finishes, we had to re-think quite a few things en route, implement last minute changes, improvise. That's a hell of a lot to manage especially when you're doing the presenting job as a newbie. Nevertheless, taking it all in and staying focused. A couple of more weeks to go! Keep you fingers crossed for me.

PS I can't tell you more about the production yet, but the closer we get to the broadcast date, I certainly will :)
