It's been nearly 9 years that I've been running #likeachallenge. There have been a few 'leaner' years where I lost some of my usual confidence and inspiration (the long and winding covid period did not help). I took time to think whether writing about my adventures is something that the world actually needs (or more importantly, if I need it). Also social media like Instagram or TIktok took over the world... and despite this, I still prefer writing, for myself, for my family and friends.
Maybe 2026 is about familiarising myself how to use socials to spread the message of what #likeachallenge is about and inspire more people to do fun things in life and not be afraid to try something new.
I was thinking what to attempt next year. I picked my boyfriend's brain yesterday and he suggested we should really get back to wakeboarding and /or kitesurfing. Especially that Dubai is a great place for watersports. Getting a boat license is another idea.
Talking of wakeboarding - I'm fine behind a boat, but at a wake park...can't get off the 'starting pier' and always splash straight into the water ;)
I am searching for a second hand digital piano - I don't want to 'forget' how to play it. I spent the month of September listening non stop to the international Chopin piano competition and it certainly brought back the love for classical music. I still want to learn some of Chopin's iconic pieces (think around 2020 I tried to attempt the famous Ballade, so maybe time to return to some unfinished business:)
I'm also running my own media company now, so that takes up a lot the time. But I don't want it to stop my adventures - quite the opposite, I want my day to day work to naturally support all the cool things I do in my free time. Financially too, though a lot of the challenges don't require much money, or are actually totally free.
I still love driving cars. I would love to do more track days, car events, meet more pro drivers to learn from. I have a big project coming up that will hopefully do a lot of good for women in motorsports, but I'll let you know once its up and running.
