WHAT'S NEXT IN 2026?
It's been nearly 9 years that I've been running #likeachallenge. There have been a few 'leaner' years where I lost some of my usual confidence, inspiration and spark (the long and winding covid period did not help). I took time to think whether writing about my adventures is something that the world actually needs or more importantly, if I need it. Also social media like Instagram or TIktok took over the world... and despite it's massive popularity, I still prefer writing,

TV & PRESENTING TALES: BEHIND THE SCENES OF #THELASTHUNT SERIES 1
I've kept it quiet for a while (well, I still am until it comes out) but here are some behind the scenes from the making of #TheLastHunt. This time - together with the amazing Guy Walters - we were tracing the stories and/or myths surrounding Nazi Gold and the possibilities of some of that stolen gold still being hidden away in far away and hard to reach places around Europe. Apart from the fascinating travel and exploration elements, the documentary also showcases the tragic

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: DECEMBER 2025 UPDATE
Well, above all: I managed to stay afloat. I’m hoping for a solid year in 2026, now that I finally understand a few more of the unwritten rules of working in the UAE. Because trust me, there are many. This year felt a bit like being thrown into a desert sandstorm armed only with an optimistic grin. But somehow, I walked out the other side with new contacts, new skills and slightly better hydration habits. I made some great connections, attended some very cool events (the kin

9.12.2025
I'm settling into my new life in Dubai. Finding 'my places', meeting new people and generally excited about the future here. My dear Andy is commuting back and forth from Munich still. I was just texting Maja, my bestie in London, and thanking her for the 1% rule she told be about. Basically, do at least 1% of something each day, rather than nothing. It helps me so much with get things done and staying on track. Even me, the #likeachallenge pro, sometimes has days off. To be

FLAT HUNTING IN DUBAI
One thing is setting up and running a company in Dubai. Another story is finding a long term flat to go with it (rent). I learnt so much about the property market in Dubai over the last few months that I could become a real estate agent myself. I've finally got my home-sweet-home now (not the first choice, but it’s a real solid base for starters). I'll count my blessings. So story in a nutshell: Found first apartment in the area of Creek Harbour, but landlord disappeared befo

BAJA DUBAI 2025
Dubai turned up the heat once again with the 2025 Dubai International Baja, the grand finale of both the FIA World Baja Cup and the FIA Middle East Baja Cup. The event, based in vibrant Dubai Festival City, drew adventurous crews from across the globe to tackle challenging desert terrain, from the rocky heights of Hatta to the sweeping sands of Al Qudra - a true test of driver skill, machine resilience and pure grit in the middle of the UAE’s stunning landscapes. Competition

HOW TO BE A PRESENTER (according to someone who accidentally became one)
So, here’s the thing: if presenting is something you really want to do, buckle up. Breaking into this corner of showbusiness can be a bit like trying to squeeze into skinny jeans after a festive season - possible, but not that easy. In my case, I was already working in TV and never actually planned on becoming a presenter. But when this random, out-of-the-blue opportunity came up I thought, Why not? and jumped in headfirst. To my surprise, I was… fairly OK at it. Or at leas

ON MOTIVATION: MY 5MIN RULE
Motivation is sometimes hard to find, even on the best of days. You can get distracted by so many things (Your Honor, guilty, I sometimes watch too many reels on TikTok) I've been a freelancer all my life, so I've learnt how to deal with the low-energy moments, but..it happens. And it's good to be aware when it's actual tiredness vs endless procrastination (a bit of lazy is also normal, brain needs a rest!:) First off all, better to do 5min of something, than nothing. That 5m

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: A FEW PRACTICAL TIPS
Finding the right niche and actually making proper use of ones skills isn’t easy. It’s one of those things that sounds simple until you’re in the middle of it. I’ve got two main things brewing: TV work (broadcast & corporate) and an idea for a media + merchandise project that will raise the profile of women in motorsports. Very early stages. What I’ve learned so far: Pick the right place: Dubai felt like the right base for me (if you haven’t already, check out my company setu
