WHAT'S NEXT IN 2026?
It's been nearly 9 years that I've been running #likeachallenge. There have been a few 'leaner' years where I lost some of my usual confidence, inspiration and spark (the long and winding covid period did not help). I took time to think whether writing about my adventures is something that the world actually needs or more importantly, if I need it. Also social media like Instagram or TIktok took over the world... and despite it's massive popularity, I still prefer writing,

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: DECEMBER 2025 UPDATE
Well, above all: I managed to stay afloat. I’m hoping for a solid year in 2026, now that I finally understand a few more of the unwritten rules of working in the UAE. Because trust me, there are many. This year felt a bit like being thrown into a desert sandstorm armed only with an optimistic grin. But somehow, I walked out the other side with new contacts, new skills and slightly better hydration habits. I made some great connections, attended some very cool events (the kin

9.12.2025
I'm settling into my new life in Dubai. Finding 'my places', meeting new people and generally excited about the future here. My dear Andy is commuting back and forth from Munich still. I was just texting Maja, my bestie in London, and thanking her for the 1% rule she told be about. Basically, do at least 1% of something each day, rather than nothing. It helps me so much with get things done and staying on track. Even me, the #likeachallenge pro, sometimes has days off. To be

NEW (UNEXPECTED) CHALLENGE: HOW TO BE A PRESENTER
This is a very unexpected and unplanned challenge. Recently I got asked if i want to be a co-presenter on a 6 part history series. I've directed and produced quite a lot of history stuff over the years, but always standing behind the camera (I've covered a few WW1 and WW2 things, but also ancient Egypt, medieval times and some more recent stories). I genuinely like digging into the past, as it allows me to explore people, different cultures and relationships between countries

HOW TO RUN A COMPANY: APRIL 2025 UPDATE
I'm now set up, and full-time working and living in Dubai. Much as beginnings are never easy (and endings are not easy either, bye bye London..). I'm in the middle of flat-hunting also. 2025 is definitely a year of big change and new opportunities. I'm excited what the future holds. It took a while to get everything organised, but fingers crossed it will all be worth it. I now run my very own (and my first ever) media production company: GOOD MEDIA PRODUCTIONS . I still do TV

HOW TO PITCH A TV SHOW
After focusing my career on TV production (physically directing and producing on location), I'm yearning to pivot towards development. Back in the day that's what I actually studied at the NFTS (National Film and Television School). That was many moons ago and my CV grew in P/D (producer/director) credits since then. I've done a lot of lovely, well know UK and US shows, a variety of formats, travelled extensively, but I'm getting more into the creative side of taking an idea,

PLAY IT AGAIN - PIANO CHALLENGE
This epic challenge, which I've tried to kick off for a couple of years now, is finally back on track (*SEE UPDATE END OF 2025;) It was inspired by the book called 'Play it again' by Alan Rusbridger. He is the ex-editor of the 'The Guardian' and a keen pianist, who decided to learn Chopin's Ballade nr 1 in G minor while running one of Britain's biggest newspapers and kept a diary of his progress. The book was actually one of my inspirations to create this website. The Balla
